The restaurant is a hidden gem. I have eaten there 2 times and every visit was amazing. Starting from the reception from the owner itself through the ordering process which is simply a quick chat with the owner and ending on the meals which are simple but very tasty! Moreover, the prices are very low compared to what you get! The products are for the biggest part from his own garden.

Chepe is an incredible chef, amazing ingredients, fresh from the garden! I went to Antigua after visiting this place but made a return trip to get some food as it was so good!

Hole in the wall spot run by a local family in Santa Caterina Barahona. The inside is small with just a few tables and the menu is told to you by the owner, who is happy to make you what you want. We got something similar to quesadillas with corn tortillas and you could choose any meat for inside as well. Then each dish came with a delicious plate of cooked vegetables (zucchini, tomatoes, onions) as well as a plate of raw veggies and salsas to eat with the quesadilla. It was all delicious, horeb was very kind, and it was one of the more authentic meals I had in Guatemala!

This is a wonderful family-run restaurant with the most delicious food I ate while visiting Guatemala! It was a treat to enjoy such quality and well flavored dishes, and to be hosted by chef Chepé and his wife. Very unexpected and for a fraction of the costs of Antigua food options. I highly recommend the fresh fruit smoothies, omelette’s, tamales, mixed grilled veggies with queso, handmade tortillas — all of it. There are many delicious sandwich and meat options as well. The cooking oils are flavored perfectly. It is a short 25 minute drive from Antigua with great views of Volcán de Agua and the family garden from inside the restaurant. I enjoyed my experience each time I visited as well as getting to practice my Spanish with Chepé and learn about the Santa Catarina Barahona community. Thank you, see you again in the future I hope!

This place is amazing! Jose and his family are so nice, the food is delicious. They have a little vegetable garden which they use for the restaurant’s food and the place is super cute. We really loved this place, already returning next week!
